Art Fair & Sealskin Sale
(Saturday July 6): artists from across Nunavut will be selling their unique hand-made goods, so come by and admire some of the best arts and crafts Nunavut has to offer, and meet the artists too!  Sealskins will also be available for sale. 

Artist Social Media Workshop (July 5 & 7): In this workshop, participants will receive the chance to learn the basics about how social media is relevant to selling art. The workshop will also go in depth about the importance of online public relations and using the internet to gain knowledge about marketing artwork. This fundamental workshop will open a new and inviting light to the importance of social media in the art world.

Children & Family Art Activity  (Saturday July 6): bring your young ones and come take part in this outdoor kid-friendly printmaking activity using stencils, paint and canvas!  100% free!  This will take place outside next to the Royal Canadian Legion Cadet Hall.

Children’s workshop for Participating Daycares (July3): some of Iqaluit’s daycares will get to take part in a sealskin ulu-making workshop with local seamstress Elisapi D. Aningmiuq.

Children’s workshop for Summer Camp (July 4): participants in the city of Iqaluit summer camp will get to learn how to create their own prints with staff from the Nunavut Arts & Crafts Association.

NACA Annual General Meeting (July 7): the Nunavut Arts & Crafts Association AGM is a chance for members to find out more about what the association has been up to this past year.  The AGM will be taking place at the Royal Canadian Legion Air Cadet Hall and is also open to the public.

NACA Closing Exhibition (July 9): this year, everyone is invited to come by the Royal Canadian Legion Cadet Hall to view the unique works the artists will have been working on all week.  All of the works will be for sale.  Refreshments will be served.

Outdoor carving demonstrations in collaboration with Nunavik artists(July 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9): throughout the week, the public is invited to come by the Royal Canadian Legion Cadet Hall and admire the artists at work.  This year, two artists from Nunavik will also be coming up to collaborate with some of Nunavut’s best stone carvers.

Professional Fair (July 8): artists are invited to attend this professional development opportunity where galleries, arts organizations, funders and other relevant institutions will be available for one-on-one consultations at their respective booths.  Come learn directly from industry professionals by asking them questions in person!

Sealskin Flower-Making Workshop (July 6): come try your hand at sewing a malikaat (sealskin flower) and bring it home too!  The workshop cost is $20/participant and all materials will be provided.  Registration is required at: This email address is being protected from spambots. Youth Photography Workshop with Darlene Patterson (July 2, 3 & 4): youth ages 10 to 30 are invited to take part in this exciting photography workshop!  American professional photographer and educator Darlene Patterson will be delivering this three-day program where youth will have the opportunity to learn how to express themselves through photography!  Registration is required at: This email address is being protected from spambots.
